I was born after the civil rights movement in America had crossed the chasm and made SIGNIFICANT progress towards equal rights for people of color. I was spared the pain of living in a world that was so openly hateful. Unfortunately I can't say as much for the LGBT community.
We love Chicago and as much as we will miss the coolness and conveniences of being in a big city like Chicago we will not miss the confined spaces and hefty housing costs required to support our sizable family in the city, not to mention the 5% Illinois income tax compared to Florida’s 0%.
