Hello and thanks for visiting. Despite gaining a nice readership base, about a year ago, I took this blog down because I was honestly too busy to focus on keeping it updated. During that time "off", I remarried, moved into the city of Chicago, purchased a 2nd home out of state and toured Northern Italy, just to mention a few of the events of the last year. Since then things have calmed down quite a bit and now I'm back with the reincarnation of the Jake's Life Blog.
So lets get reacquainted. In case you somehow missed it, my name is Jake and this is my blog. I thought it would be best to have my first post be something of an introduction. A little background on me as well as an overview of what you can expect here at Jake’s Life.
First of all, I have to confess that at the risk of offending some, I’ll be very candid and say that I write for my benefit first and my readers benefit second. That’s not to say that I don’t want my readers to enjoy this blog or get value from what I write here, I do. Very much so actually. For me however, writing is therapeutic and that’s why I do it.
I have many interests and this blog will reflect that. Generally I will write about topics within a few categories such as family & friends, life in general, business, health & fitness, relationships, personal finance and money and occasionally some random thoughts thrown in for good measure.
Here’s Some Info About Me
I am a husband, a father, a trained chef & foodie, a musician, a fledgling photographer, a weekday vegetarian & weekend carnivore, a guy that is comfortable wearing pink, a flats fishing enthusiast, a naturally fat man that has to do unnatural things to remain “not fat”, a lover of fashion & design, a football fanatic and professionally, an executive with a Fortune 500 company.
Over the years I have been blessed to have had some great people pass through my life who have had a huge influence on me and have made some tremendous life changing impacts. That would include both personally and professionally. I know what it's like to focus on a goal and achieve success and at the same time I'm also no stranger to adversity and failure. I try to remain pretty well informed and well read, and I enjoy expanding on what I've learned and passing it on to others. So with that, once again, I say thank you for visiting Jake's Life and I hope you enjoy your time here!
